Sometimes you may think a dream is dead, but real dreams, they never die. They sleep. Sometimes for years and years, like the picture at the top of this page. The angel is covered in leaves and vines, the soil of time washed over her by seasons of rain. Old dreams feel just like that, especialy broken hard forgotten ones. She looks beautiful, what's even more beautiful, is when she rises and wipes her eyes. "Thats why we're here, to wipe the eye's of our dream."
The story so far.
"Play what you feel, feel what you play."
There will always be an endless list of reasons why you cant do something. It takes a determined mindset to achieve a goal that is eating up money and time with no real tangible results. It took us about nine attempts to record the first three songs. Learning music production from the ground up is an arduous ordeal. With no one to help us and no real teacher except the internet, lets just say, we made some mistakes. The trade off is, when you get that song right, you can truly say, 'we did it,' thank the small and faithful squad of supporters who believe in you, and know that you were right in helping that angel out of the brambles. Col and I go back a long way, we know each other, and we know what we like to play. The venture into recording our second album wasn't planned. The first was an ode to the good old days when we discovered our sound and realy had some good times. That is album is self tiltled, "Sydney City Delta"
We sent this album out to 'SongCast' an internet radio website and got some great listening response, but after seeing what was possible and feeling the vibe of something bigger, the realization came that with the ton of songs we have in our back pocket, we could easily make another album, this time crafting it to our highest ideal. "it was time to dance with the angel"
it's taken near four years. I've personaly moved four times while this was all happening, the other life interruptions that happened along the way could easily fill another page. What we want you all to know about us is how much we love to play our music. We've done our best to capture who we are in this second album. We aren't music producers, and I must take my hat off to Col, who learned all there is to know on protools, solid state, and valve equipment to get a hell of a rockin sound for this CD. We also owe a big thank you to our session drummer, and now good friend Simon Abbott, for his dedicted drum work on all the songs except for "Set You Free," which was brought in later and done by Toby Brown. Thanks Toby for your contribution, and thanks Simon for your dedicated time with us. Now that the album is coming to a close, we can finaly start doing what we really set our to do, play to ya'll folks. "Wake up angel, it's time to make love"
Simon, ready to lay some tracks.
Music isn't our only passion, we have our down time as well. We live on the North side of Sydney, less than five minutes from the Harbour Bridge. There's lots of boat ramps and parks hidden away from all the city sky scrapers, good for clearing the head before diving back into more sound changes, mic checks and running over new guitar and bass tracks. This is Col's Holden SS. V8, taking it out on the road for a long drive is one of his favorite leasure time activities. Now and then we go up to Byron Bay. From a place called Ballina to Byron, there's a new freeway, its all green mountains and valleys, and a peacefull stretch of smooth road, now that is cruisin for the soul.
I like to paint when I can, here's my new canvass awaiting first sketch. Everything I've done so far has been a private collection but I've convinced my self to open the doors to my art, so You'll be seeing the results sometime soon. I look for inspiration through spiritual concepts, beauty and darkness, beauty and light. Well that's us for now, enough ego pleasuring, there's work to do, busy, busy, busy, the whole world is turning and it's so, so, busy.
